You don't lead by hitting people over the head - that's assault, not leadership.

For a high school and college students so much time is spent trying to fit in, when we are really called to be extraordinary. This blog will challenge you to not live a life that everyone forgets and no one follows. Live with a purpose, live with meaning, be extraordinary.

I believe what's Dwight was trying to say was that you can't force someone to follow you. You can't drag somebody along for the ride and expect them to call you a leader. You should lead by example. Being bossy isn't always going to cut it. People won't follow you and you won't be a true leader. You have to compromise with people and you shouldn't try to beat them senseless trying to come to your way of thinking.
